Boston Uncommon has returned for its second volume to continue covering Boston-based drag, queer nightlife, and LGBTQ+ current events. Featuring original writing and reporting by Emerson College student and drag artist Joni 66, Boston Uncommon engages authentically with those who work and play within the city’s queer spaces and reports on issues that directly impact local and greater New England LGBTQ+ communities.

BIG STORY: Pride Bar Crawl takes over 10 Boston venues
In honor of Pride month, LGBTQ Nightlife Events is taking over ten venues across the city for their 2022 bar crawl with drag performances, DJs, art vendors, live music, and more.
The crawl is on June 11 from 1-6 p.m., allowing participants to pick their starting point upon ticket purchase and continue on the crawl from there. Featured drag performers and DJs include Kirby Fully Loaded, Severity Stone, Coleslaw, Dorian Blonch, Linda Marie Posa, Chanel the Angel, and Candace Persuasian.
Presale ($25), door ($30), and VIP ($35) tickets are now available; the highest tier grants expedited entrance to all venues. A portion of all ticket sales will go to Trans Resistance MA and the remaining proceeds towards the construction of a new queer venue.
STAY ON TOP OF THIS: Queer Theater Project production of “Twelfth Night” to debut April 23
Fundraising for Youth on Fire, Boston GLASS, and The Theater Offensive, Somerville-based company The Queer Theater Project is putting on a genderqueer rendition of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.”
The company’s second show — almost a year after their debut production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” this retelling of “Twelfth Night” is a tale of twins, mistaken identities, and queer shenanigans, as Producer Matisse Dupont writes.
Entirely free to attend, the show has four dates total (see below), opening on Saturday, April 23 at the Armory Somerville.

For both the April 23 and 24 shows, an RSVP is required and mask-wearing is mandatory as venues are indoors. For the performances at Powderhouse Park, seating is first come, first served. All donations collected upon ticket purchase will go directly to Boston-based queer organizations.
SHOW SPOTLIGHT: Providence Drag Gauntlet kicks off Cycle 2
With a brand new cast of 12 drag artists, Providence Drag Gauntlet is back for its second cycle. Fresh off the crowning of Ninny Nothing in Providence Gauntlet: Legends, the competition is back at Miribar every other Tuesday at 8 p.m. Cycle 2 kicked off on April 19 where contestants were challenged to perform a number based on a natural disaster.
Annie Sokae won the challenge with her volcano-inspired performance while Delilah N’Chains, Data Korrupt, and McKayla Savage (assigned tsunami, volcano, and tsunami respectively) landed in the bottom. All three lip-synced and both McKayla Savage and Data Korrupt were eliminated.
Next week’s theme is Childhood Cartoons, a challenge from Boston Drag Gauntlet Cycle 3. All Gauntlet tickets are available online!
